Orange cake

 Infused with plenty orange zest and juice with added poppy seeds and a bit of Grand Marnier to boost the flavors this cake is a tribute to my dad’s homegrown oranges and one of my forever favorite cakes. 
This week I will top it with a simple orange icing. 

ingredients:  flour, oil, baking powder, milk, eggs, salt, sugar, sourdough, orange juice/zest, Grand Marnier and pure vanilla.

The addition of sourdough doesn’t add any sourness to the cake, but it balances the sweetness and gives it a tenderer crumb thanks to the well-fermented flour.
