It’s amazing how flaxseed can impact the dough and its flavor. Iam using both flaxseed meal (which is actually coarsly grounded flax) and seeds.
I’m ever so thankful with how much positive feedback I got from you on this.
Remember that flaxseeds not only add a subtle earthy flavor but they also increase the nutritional profile of the bread with omega-3 fatty acids, fiber and polyphenols!
Ingredients: Organic wheat, wholewheat, flaxseeds (seeds and meal), sourdough, water, salt. No yeast. Slow fermentation.
For allergens see ingredients in bold.
fun fact : linseed and flaxseed are the same seed from the flax plant. The difference in terminology is primarily regional and contextual, with “flaxseed” often referring to the seeds when used for nutritional purposes, and “linseed” when used in industrial contexts.
The original variety of Flaxseed (and it was called linseed before it was called flaxseed) was a brown-bronze coloured seed. Since then many other varieties have been developed, including gold and most shades in between. There is a lot of debate around the color of linseed and misinformation but in fact their color nothing to do with them being de-hulled or toasted as some people think; it’s just the way they grow. Just like you can get green apples and red apples they are all good for you.
