Meet organic Kamut! By far the most difficult flour to source and wayyyy more expensive than any other flour! The caviar of flours I call it š People swear by it for its light and sweet buttery flavor. A golden color wheat renounced for its health benefits.Ā
A very sought after flour which is widely appreciatedĀ
Most likely originating in Mesopotamia, legends exist of this grain being found in Egyptian tombs. Legend also has it that Noah brought the grain with him on the ark.
Ingredients: organic wheat and Kamut, sourdough, akamas salt, water. Long fermentation process, no yeast/dairy/honey.Ā
As per the official Kamut website : KAMUTĀ® brand khorasan wheat is an ancient grain, guaranteed under the KAMUTĀ® brand, to never be hybridized or genetically modified, always organically grown, and is prized for its nutrition, ease of digestibility, sweet nutty-buttery taste and firm texture. It is an excellent source of protein, fiber, and many vitamins and is high in minerals including selenium.
Khorasan is a variety of wheat and has gluten. However, many people with sensitivities to modern wheat report being able to eat KAMUTĀ® khorasan wheat with no difficulty and thus that it is an excellent alternative to modern wheat.
KAMUTĀ® khorasan is an ancient grain that has not been changed through modern breeding programs.
KAMUTĀ® khorasan wheat is grown on certified organic farms where the dry climate similar to its origins, ensures the best quality is consistently obtained. Khorasan wheat is distinctive. It is about three times larger than most modern wheat, is elongated with a pronounced āhumpā, and is uniquely vitreous with a rich golden color.
